Fethullah Gulen's Works

Fethullah Gulen's Works

Fethullah Gülen’s works can be classified in two main genres: recorded speeches and books. The former means the published collections of audiotapes and visual material out of his sermons and conversations over decades. His books consist of two kinds: First, the compilations of his editorials published by three periodicals in Turkey. The topics of his sermon series include ethics, social justice, transcending meanings of prayer, frugality, family life and child education, principles of a virtuous life for the youth and an in-depth treatment of various aspects of Prophet Muhammad’s life. His articles are literary treatments of concepts including human values, serving people as a way of serving God, and means of holistic self-development for young generations. An exemplary volume of the latter kind was translated to English as The Statue of Our Souls. Published books of both kinds number more than fifty so far. Two books can be considered separate from the aforementioned two categories. One is the compilation of his poems, entitled canan.GIFKirik Mizrap(meaning, The Broken Plectrum), which is specially appealed by composers for lyrics. The other is his masterpiece, the only book that Gülen systematically authored, spanning several years and published in the form of centerfold articles in the famous Turkish magazine, Sizinti, and its English version, The Fountain. The first two volumes of this work are translated to English and published with the title Key Concepts in the Practice of Sufism: Emerald Hills of the Heart. Only several of his works have so far been translated to English. Below is a chronological list of those titles:
